Hello,
Some questions about Linux on the Q40:
1. My disk already has QWA partitions created by SMSQ mkpart_exe. Will
the Linux fdisk recognize them and be able to partition the remainder
of the disk, or must I start again and do the whole disk with Linux
fdisk?
2. My QWA partitions are 2 x 4Gb. I seem to recall a feature of x86
Linuxes that required the root partition to start within the first 1024
cylinders.(Might have been a mainboard BIOS limitation I guess.) I
don't know if that was ever resolved. Is it an issue with Q40 Linux?
3. Is there somewhere I can download the distribution or can I only
get it by ordering the CD?
4. Aspect ratio. Has the issue of mapping the Xfree86 4:3 desktop
aspect ratio onto the Q40 2:1 ratio been addressed yet?
regards,
Ian.
