Tony Tebby and his team did QDOS. David Karlin and his team were behind the hardware. And Jan Jones was responsible for SuperBASIC. Clive Sinclair was the name behind the project. I doubt the QL would have got far had it not been a Sinclair Research at the time. But I've heard it argued that the QL might have done even better had it been done slightly differently by a different company - but that's another story.
