OK, I've no clue about all this stuff and am strictly speaking out of my back orifice, but as far as I know printf doesn't take a channel number and strictly prints to stdout. Which doesn't need to be the channel wm.swinf returns. Perhaps you could try using io_sstrg with the channel number wm.swinf returned.
