Findings so far:
If Qubide and hard drive connected, the fast flashing and uncontrollable keyboard occurs. If Qubide and NO hard drive connected, problem still occurs. If Qubide disconnected, MinisQL starts up normally and cursor flashing is normal, along with keyboard repeat rate. SuperHermes extensions are on an EPROM and this is found on startup (i.e. listed in the startup ROMs list). So would seem to be something to do with the Qubide, not a software issue as disconnecting the hard disk has no effect, but disconnecting the Qubide does. This is the same when using SMSQ/E 3.13, SMSQ?E 2.93 or QDOS version JM. The only recent change has been the addition of the LCD monitor, where I changed the SVGA jumpers to Multisynch to be able to get a 1024x768 picture on the Aurora. I've just tried restoring this to default setting and it made no difference as you might expect. Qubide settings haven't been changed since I got the MinisQL and in all other respects the Qubide and hard disk are working normally. Next step will be to disconnect the Superhermes extensions eprom and load the extensions from disk in case something's gone wrong there, but since the qubide seems to make the difference I don't know what else to try. -- Dilwyn Jones _______________________________________________ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
