I bought the original when it was called GST macro assembler plus the 
Quanta version, so why would I want a free copy too?

Yet it makes sense to make the assembler generally available as it is a 
primary tool for developing SMSQ/E and programs for the whole QL platform.

I think it would be great if the source code were made available too, as 
the platform has moved on since the program was last updated.

Without the source code it would be much less valuable to those of us 
who already bought it.

I presume all the relevant bits apply to the linker too?
