There are a couple of benefits in running our own wiki: 1) We can allow robots to follow external links and thus promote QL related websites - at the moment Wikipedia has "nofollow, noindex" on these links. 2) We can change the look and feel of the wiki to have a specific QL design. I have had a look at updating some pages on Wikipedia - we could use the information on their to build the QL wiki and make a link across to the separate wiki. However, I still feel that it can be confusing as you cannot section off the wiki to deal solely with QL topics, for example looking up PAWN by Magnetic Scrolls, or Minerva - yes, you can create an unambiguity page, but then people need to know a little about what they are looking for and as information is added, it becomes more of a task to keep everything updated and ensure the links go to the correct versions. There are plenty of names / phrases in the QL community which have other meanings - Minerva, Gold Card, Microdrive etc .... > However I think one source is best - otherwise neither will be > definitive. Agreed, but not many people are coming forward to say which they would rather use !! -- Rich Mellor RWAP Services URL:http://www.rwapsoftware.co.uk URL:http://www.rwapservices.co.uk _______________________________________________ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
