I have a couple of neat battery powered TVs - one bought to attach to a
Sega games machine (and has been used as a portable QL monitor) and one
I won. I must say I have rarely used them as the screen is much too
small. However I do object to them being forced into redundancy.
Mind you the QLs TV output is terrible. Sinclair found this too, and
attempted to 'improve' it by shielding mdv1_. The Atari ST used the
exact same system (Similar UHF modulator and the 1377) with very much
better results. This was probably due to the less compact design and
better isolation.

I know of no way a QL would zap a monitor. The other way round is
*very* common (8-)#
