Can anyone confirm if this behaviour of LBYTES occurs on a standard QL or only on QPC2 (I only have a QPC2 setup at the moment and too lazy to fetch the QL from the attic)
With SBYTES you can do something like SBYTES ram1_test,address,0 which creates a not very useful zero length file. But if you try to LBYTES it back with LBYTES ram1_test,address you get the error message 'end of file' I spent a while tracking down a bug reported in one of my programs where I was told it gave the "end of file" message and it turns out it only happens with 0 length files (quite why anyone would want to LBYTES a zero length file I'm not sure, but there we are!) -- Dilwyn Jones _______________________________________________ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
