Correct, it doesn't, but since QL on a stick is aimed at Windows 
platforms, as long as Windows DOS box knows about it, no problem.

But as Jimmy pointed out the replacement free choice.exe program, I 
just put that in the same place as the go.bat and it all seems to 
work. (So far.....)

Not applicable as the batch file lives in the same drive as the 
emulators, so far everything seems to work using relative paths, thank 
goodness. The emulators seem to manage to save their configurations in 
the right place so far, apart from a little problem with QemuLator 
registration.
