What I did when running UQLX under IRIX was to just put the floppy in the disk drive and just use 'dd' to copy the entire disk to a file. Then I had UQLX read the file like a QXL file. You don't need to mount to do the 'dd'. Since Linux does not understand the QDOS file system, I don't think you are going to be able to actually mount the floppy.
