Check for break points (TRAP #14, IIRC) in the code... and replace any with a NOP. I saw this happening countless times with many QMENU versions in the past on my QXLs and Thor XVI. I did report it to Jochen too, but saw it happening again in later versions. Maybe Jochen simply forgot again to remove the debugging code... ;-) The problem is that such TRAPs are ingored (i.e. lead to a RTE) in QPC but not in other QDOS-SMSQ systems in which they stop the job instead.
