Hi Thierry,

yes, it is true I put Trap #$e and Trap #$f as debug brakepoints and
sometimes forget to remove them. However, they should be ignored if
no debugger exists - otherwise there would have been massive problems
in the past.

I checked QMENU 8.01 for these traps but I did not find anything.
The one I used at Eindhoven for debugging has been removed.

It is possible that there is still a Trap in one of the many libraries
I use, but again, without debugger (and activated Trap check) every system should ignore them.

Jochen

Recently JMS announced here an update for Qmenu.
As recent as last saturday in Eindhoven, he added some changes (I made him do it).
Happy with my new update I went home and tested it on my machines.
But in my case it only workes poperly under QPC2.
My Aurora and QXL refuse to LRESPR correctly, no error is reported but the version prompts are missing and no "Things" or keywords are added. Only the "licensed for SMSQ/E" prompt is shown.

Some of you may have downloaded the update. Can anyone confirm my findings on Aurora, QXL or maybe Qx0?

Both Jochen and I are confused about this.
All my tests were done with SMSQ/E 3.13 and menu_rext 7.67 to 8.01, some with 3.03 but the results were the same.

Check for break points (TRAP #14, IIRC) in the code... and replace any with
a NOP. I saw this happening countless times with many QMENU versions in the
past on my QXLs and Thor XVI. I did report it to Jochen too, but saw it
happening again in later versions.
Maybe Jochen simply forgot again to remove the debugging code... ;-)

The problem is that such TRAPs are ingored (i.e. lead to a RTE) in QPC but
not in other QDOS-SMSQ systems in which they stop the job instead.

Thierry.
