The other thing is that QubIDE will not read/write to a PC formatted hard disk - it has to be in QL format, which QPC2 cannot read (or correct me if I am wrong)

Rich
Correct.

On Qubide system with IDE Zip drive, format it as per Qubide 2 instructions.

On QPC2 any version of Zip drive can be a QXL.WIN (for WIN drives) or a PC formatted disk (for DOS drives) and is subject to the usual rules for removable media.

It has to be said, I've only ever used the parallel port Zip 100MB disk system on a QPC2 (no problems at all, at least when my brain is engaged and fully in gear!)

The information on IDE Zip drives is as per what I was told by someone else a few years ago, so is subject to the usual health warnings regarding my memory etc etc.

It would have been nice if the Qubide had ever been updated to allow it to read QXL.WIN media like most other SMSQ/E systems!

Speaking of Qubide and Omega, has anybody heard anything from Jan Polenicek (hope I spelled his name right) about his proposed new Qubide boards?
