As others explained, this is due to missing QDOS headers for the executables. [The QL User Manual implies that COPY also copies the headers, as there is a COPY_N command to copy without headers, but it doesn't seem to work that way] If you are transferring to Q-emuLator, you can copy the files with the QLToWin_exe utility (distributed with the emulator). This way, the headers will be preserved. This utility works for individual files.. for groups of files, zipping/unzipping with the QDOS version of zip may be faster.
