I've just had a chance to use this ultra-cheap 10 inch screen netbook from Zoostorm and I loved it!

In the UK, it's on offer for just £199 from Argos (part number 508-3053) and seems to work just fine with QPC2 (albeit I've only used it for a day or so).

While 10 inch screen netbooks like this can be bought cheaper, this one comes with Windows 7 starter (very, very basic Windows 7, but adequate for what I wanted), and a decent 250GB hard disk, the first I've seen at this price.

Indeed it *is* a pity about the battery life. Maybe with an SSD drive the life owuld be longer.
The screens tough are power hungry.
Nothing will persuade me not to use my Apple Macbook Pro with 7 hours plus, other than 12 hour life small netbook. The macbook does it partly by using LEDs for the screen rather than 110vAC strip lights. Maybe the Ipad when it becomes a *real* computer will do that, with Qemulator.

You (or Ann maybe) will kick yourself.
It is now £179.99 (8-)#

BTW Argos always seems to have the same prices online as in store. However PC World very often have specially low online prices which are apply (but not advertised) if you reserve online for store pickup.
