I am surprised that speed seems not _that_ big issue for most. I hope this does not originate from the perception that SD cards can be swapped at any time, like a floppy replacement. As mentioned in my first posting, the device would be like a harddisk. The native file driver does not allow hot swapping - at least not yet. Only the mtools (for non-native FAT access) implement a hot swapping concept - at the expense of initializing the SD card, everytime mtools is called.
