Ok I have another way but it is a bit long winded, and should preserve formatting
output as PDF convert PDF to Word Doc file - there are progs and there maybe online ones that do it for you. load in to word and output from Word as HTML, however be warned Word creates the most atrocious html file from its own documents they are full of unnecessary rubbish Lee Privett ¦--------------------------------------------------------¦ Sent from my Laptop running XP but emulating the QL using QPC2 ¦--------------------------------------------------------¦ ----- Original Message ----- From: Rich Mellor To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, February 14, 2011 2:00 PM Subject: Re: [Ql-Users] Outputting from QPC to HTML I have Quill View - unfortunately, it is not easy to convert Text 87 files to any format without losing all of the formatting information. Interestingly, although the output to PDF apepars to work ok, when you then try to use a Windows tool to convert PDF to HTML, some either just output the text as an image (not much use), or they apply formatting to each individual word, in order to put them in the same place on the screen! No wonder there are more PDF conversion tools out there than the other way around Rich On 14/02/2011 13:45, Lee Privett wrote: > Rich, I don't know anything about Text87, but if you can save the files in Text87 as Quill documents then you can use a free program I found somewhere on Dilwyn's site that actually came with other QL software. It is called Quill View it is windows based and you drop Quill documents in to the icon and it displays them in HTML formatted as well. If you want to go this route I will try and find out where from or alternatively I can send it to you. > > Lee Privett > > ¦--------------------------------------------------------¦ > Sent from my Laptop running XP > but emulating the QL using QPC2 > ¦--------------------------------------------------------¦ > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Rich Mellor > To: [email protected] > Sent: Monday, February 14, 2011 12:07 PM > Subject: [Ql-Users] Outputting from QPC to HTML > > > I have a few documents (a fair size) which were written in Text 87. > > Using QPC + QPCPrint, I can output them to PDF, but ideally I would like > to get them into HTML or another format suitable to put on the web. > > Does anyone have suggestions as to the best way of achieving this? > > -- > Rich Mellor > RWAP Services > > http://www.rwapsoftware.co.uk > http://www.rwapservices.co.uk > > -- Try out our new site: http://sellmyretro.com > > > _______________________________________________ > QL-Users Mailing List > http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm > _______________________________________________ > QL-Users Mailing List > http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm > > -- Rich Mellor RWAP Services http://www.rwapsoftware.co.uk http://www.rwapservices.co.uk -- Try out our new site: http://sellmyretro.com _______________________________________________ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm _______________________________________________ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
