The drive system works fine if I apply power direct to the motor. I now have to
delve further.
I wonder if there is a drive power transistor (8-)#
.... and you know how we complained about having only 100k plus on a
microdrive. The magnetic card has 100 bytes - or similar.
Having a limit of storage (HP has only a handful of pre-defined registers and
zero ram) makes for efficient programming.
One trick HP suggest to double storage is the use integer and fractional part
as two separate integers.
I have said this before but Laurence Reeves was a master of this sort of
programming. His QL Forth was under 4k of machine code I think.
