Slip of the brain.....
In today's bloated environment there seems little incentive for that sort of
programming.
With superHermes it was vital as we were very short of firmware space. Even
then he could not fit in the full keyboard code. Ironically just before
release, Microchip quadrupled the rom size. It was too late though to re-jig
the code to incorporate a full keyboard driver. In fact that has never been
done.
