If anyone else is interested, it seems that the Tivo has it's own file
system which is different from any Linux file system.
There's a web site at http://mfslive.org/tivofaq.htm which offers a
downloadable CD that you can boot from and this offers a few Tivo Tools.
Lots of information on the site too.
