Does anyone know if it would be possible to reformat a WIN1_ partition
on a Qubide hard disk without losing the other partitions?
The ZERO option of the Partition program will wipe all directory info from
the chosen partition, effectively removing all files.
I believe that the separate WIPE_exe will do the same.
Format will also wipe the table for the other partitions held on Win1_,
making them inaccessible.
It looks like the member’s WIN1_ has a corrupt directory, with repeated
spurious names in the DIR list which can’t be deleted.
Alternatively, does anyone know of a way of removing a single complete
directory in cases like this?
The Qubide tool WinEdit_obj has options to collect all blocks belonging to
one file.
I have never used this option myself and if the directory is corrupted, it
may not be able to do a good job.
Good luck,
Bob
