I am running QPC2 under VMware on a MAC. The hash comes up with the key three
to the right of L. This is where the hash is if the keyboard was a PC keyboard.
I agree that ALT 3 just gives 3 with QPC2.

The upper case of hash is tilde. To get inverted commas I press upper case 2 (
which is @ on my MAC). To get @ I press the MAC's inverted commas. If you don't
think too hard it is all quite easy.

Of course the back slash and vertical line are likewise obtained from their PC
position: this is the tick/tilde key on the MAC.
