This would mean that my SQRview program will most likely (for now) fail as well. This shares some code and techniques with BMP, where the file is partly read to verify that it is a valid image file, before claiming memory and loading the whole file.
No, this only concerns directories, not normal files! Why don't you send it to me, to try out?
Also when saving a converted image this is often done in sections (by line) to a channel. How do the device drivers cope with that?
