Rich, Yes, I can see it was well intentioned but, unfortunately, the trouble with getting credit for something is that it quickly turns into an 0800 support number! and I DO NOT want to go there! Anyway, forget it. It's an exciting new product and needs some enthusiasm.
As to Javier (I thought his name was Miguel, by the way) and the alternative QL-SD, which is really just a QL-SD for the ROM port: Anyone with decent 68K assembler skills can port the driver. It is only necessary to create a new set of hardware-level interface modules - basically the routines that (from memory) init, getSize, GetLBA and PutLBA. In fact you can probably port the driver to any block-oriented device in that way. Of course, you do need at least one reliably working QL to do that ;) I believe most of the documentation needed is actually in the commented source code.
