OK - how are you launching QL Archive?
 
The standard version grabs all of the QL memory, unless you use QPAC II's
grabber which sets the maximum memory available to the programs.
 
You may be better with Xchange - that has a QL configuration block (from memory)
to set the maximum space available, so you would need to use QL Config or
MenuConfig to change the space available
