D'oh, slight mistake in the story.
Beth Gelert (current spelling Beddgelert in fact since the th or dd in
the Bedd bit is pronounced as 'th' in 'the' not 'th' in Beth or
Elizabeth) is a place in Snowdonia and legend has it that it's named
after a dog, Gelert, who was killed by his master when he thought the
dog had killed his son, but in fact the blood on the dog came from the
dog successfully defending the baby against a wolf. The dog's master
later realised his mistake when he found his baby alive and a dead
wolf...and a legend was created.
There is in fact a place you can visit with the (supposed) grave
location, presumably this is where Andrew went.
