I've started playing QPC2 v2 on a quite powerful PC and I must confess I'm
astonished.

I did a few benchmarks: the speed is not dependent on resolution (4 colours
/ 65536 colours), memory (4 Mb / 16 Mb), windows or full screen mode (tested
with QSI)

The speed on an Athlon 1000 (256 Mb) is more or less 90 times a standard QL.
A 512 Kb jpeg image is displayed in a few seconds in 65536 colours (finally
we will have decent wallpapers). The graphic card was an Elsa Gladiac GTS
(32 Mb of ram) with Windows 2000.

Please take note that in order to exploit the Windows mode you have to have
a fairly decent graphic card (16 Mb of memory at least?). On my old PC with
a Matrox 2 Mb card QPC2 in Windows mode is deadfully slow.

Finally the dos device on order to access dos files directly from QPC is the
final touch.

Great Marcel!!!!

Now we need to have some good environment to develop programs (what about a
lifting to Easyptr/Easymenu in order to exploit the 65536 colours?) and a
decent TCP/IP implementation.
