I've been a great fan of 98lite ever since it was 1.0, and I think I've
already mentioned it on the list. I use it on all the PCs here. The web
server is 98SR2 cut down to about 22M using 98lite and a few tricks of my
own. Works perfectly, the last time it crashed was 6 months ago, and only
because I was being really bad with it. And it only had 16M of RAM until
recently (even ow it's only 32 - 'only' in the PC sense, of course). There
is also a version of 98lite called EOS, which can strip W98 down further,
but it's quite expensive and not entirely appropriate since it takes out
components needed by QPC2, namely directX.
The current version of 98lite is at 4.5. If you deal with windows machines
'in real life', it is well worth buying the thing to get the full pro
version with al the extra options.
