As far as I understand, in SMSQ/E TT does test programming techniques which he thinks could possibly be patented. It seems possible to try to patent very low level stuff as that is exactly what the company at www.nexwave-solutions.com has in mind (Emmanuel Marty, their programmer who met TT, did a very complete study of current OSes, see http://tunes.org/Review/OSes.html where there also is a small paragraph about the QL) OTOH TT is also very aware that this leads to nowhere because he is alone on this path. However there is one developper who got the sources for SMSQ/E, named Marcel. How did Marcel get access to those sources? Did he sign a non-disclosure agreement? And how many developpers in the QL world would be interested to see these sources? Arnould
