The sockets are staggered, and the pins are bent close to the edge of the chip and appear to have been stretched about as far as they'll go to reach the sockets. I did check that they were all located in their sockets but I can't tell whether they are all making sound contact. It will also be difficult to check whether any of the pins have broken where they emerge from the chip, because the chips are mounted close together.
I admit I didn't check the simms. I'll do that and report back.
