Norman - I'm having difficulty at times with QPC2 v3.02 under Win 98 accessing floppy drives. If I have ALT TABbed or ALT ESCed from program to program, Win 98 stops recognising floppies. Sometimes, going to Windows, inserting a DOS disk and reading that then back to QPC2 and read a QDOS disk will succeed. Only ever happens in QPC2 - never in WIndows. SOmetimes if the problem cropped up in QPC2 Windowsd will have to be restarted before even it will recognise any floppies. Only started happening since "upgrading" (term used loosely) to Windows 98. Does not happen at all on Win2000 at work. Sadly, don't have zip drives at work to try your problem, but just mentioning this in case it had something in common. I asked Marcel about this, he said he had not heard of any problems like this with floppies. P.S. Only using HD disks, not been brave enough to try to alter BIOS settings to DD yet!
Anyone else had this problem with ALT TAB between QPC and other apps "sabotaging" floppy access? (OK...me and my PC are well known for having problems...) -- Dilwyn Jones [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.soft.net.uk/dj/index.html ----- Original Message ----- From: "Norman Dunbar" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: 13 May 2002 08:10 Subject: RE: [ql-users] Is there anybody out there ? > Phoebus, > > zip disc worked fine at home so I copied everything to a brand spanking new > one and I can read it at home and at work.
