There is also a possibility of the zip disk being locked in the drive while 
a shutdown was in progress. Usually Windows ejects all removable disks (or 
disconnects them - Ejection is the case though with Zip disks/drives) and 
if that did not happen and for some reason your QXL.WIN file was left open, 
weird things could happen to the FAT. This is extremely rare though (Never 
happened to me personally but on one occasion to somebody I know).

If that is the case, the Unformat procedure of Norton utilities should be 
used instead of the Disk Doctor (DO NOT USE the Windows utilities as they 
are totally useless).
Make ABSOLUTELY SURE that you have an "Undo" disk ready (better use a 
previously checked and totally blank floppy disk) for that procedure. Also 
it would be best if you could run that from DOS. Please contact me 
privately if you wish assistance with/or need other utilities for recover 
(i have some pretty decent ones here :-)
