Hi Phoebus,

I think English has so many different sources, French, German, Nordic, etc
because there was a time when England was simply invaded by any old group of
Continentals who had a spare weekend and were bored. Angles, Saxons, Gauls
?, Romans, Vikings, Danes etc etc - no wonder the language is so hard to
learn.

(I'll probably get shot for that !)

Cheers,
Norman.

Considering yours is a mostly Germanic language which uses a wealthy supply
of French
words (thanks to Norman....ds;-) (Among others), that seems almost as odd as
Greeks
thinking that the world owes them ... (yeah right!)... (Almost but not AS
bad ;-)

:-D (Moral: We are ALL crazy aren't we?)
