Hi all - Mode 12 is 256x256 in 16 colours - Mode 12 uses 32K SCR-Memory like QL-Mode 0 and 8 - in Mode 8 and 12 each pixel is a nibble (half a byte, 4 bits) - the place of Mode 8 blinking bit is used as additional colour-bit giving 16 colours instead of 8 - TURBO supports float as parameter for INK, PAPER, etc.
Here's an SB-code example from 1989 of a colour rainbow which was compiled with TURBO those days: DEFine PROCedure Palette subms menu$(1,4) IF mode%=12 : A0=7.5 : A1=.5 : ELSE : A0=7 : A1=1 : END IF A2=16*A1 FOR a=0 TO A0 STEP A1 : PAPER#6,a : SCROLL#6,A2 PAPER#6,opt%(8) END DEFine Sadly no time for years to fire up my good old Thor computers :-( Viele Grusse aus der Schweiz / Best regards...Urs Konig http://mypage.bluewin.ch/QLvsJaguar/ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Phoebus Dokos" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "QL Users Mailing List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, December 23, 2002 6:36 AM Subject: [ql-users] ThorXVI Mode 12 and Turbo > > Hi all, > I was wondering if anyone has some extra info on Thor XVI's Mode 12 (screen organization, > bits etc)...
