Hmm..

Just looking at this and note that the word at addr+6 is supposed to be the line increment in bytes.

Does this mean that if a PIC file contains a partial screen dump (eg. 128x128 pixels on a standard QL), the rest of the data  on each line is normally stored as well (ie. pixels 128...255 on a MODE 8 screen)??  I think not, therefore what is the generally accepted use of this word??
