Yes, there is Tony Tebby's GD2 documentation notes (Word DOC format).
I can email these to you if you like, about 90KB in length, zipped.

Basically:

Mode 0 - monochrome according to docs (1 bit per pixel), but also 0 is
sometimes used for mode 4
Mode 4 - QL mode 4 (2 bit)
Mode 7 - palette mapped 4 colour mode (2 bit)
Mode 8 - 16 colour or 8 colour+flash (QL mode 8) (4 bit)
Mode 15 - palette mapped 16 colour mode (4 bit)
Mode 16 - 256 colour mode (8 bit)
Mode 31 - palette mapped 256 colour mode (8 bit)
Mode 32 - 64k colour mode (QPC2, etc) (16 bit)
Mode 33 - Q40/Q60 64K colour mode (16 bit)
Mode 64 - 16 million colour 24 bit (nothing uses this yet)

Don't ask me to explain the various pixel formats as I don't
understand them all yet, but they are listed in Tony Tebby's docs.

Subject: [ql-users] QL/SMSQ colour modes

Hello All,

Which are the main colour modes for QL/QPC/Aurora/Q60?

I know mode 4 and mode 32 (of course mode 8). Are there others? Are
these information available on some online documentation?

thanks

Davide Santachiara
