} There was indeed the need for GWASS to deal with "expressions". The situation now is that GWASS can deal with expressions in exactly the same way as Qmac. There is now a switch in GWASS allowing you to choose "expressions" (as Qmac) or "not expressions" (as in earlier versions of GWASS). This allows
4+ 7*3
to be evaluated by GWASS either as 25 ("expressions") or 33 ("not expressions").
The new method also allows GWASS to find the value for eg
(label1 + label2)/label3
The precedences of the set of operators in GWASS follows that in Qmac. Whether that is the same as precedences in other assemblers is another question. Does anyone know whether Qmac is "normal" or "out of line"?
I think all the operators involved are - + - * / << >> ! and &. I would have to look up the GWASS manual to be sure!
