That is fine. Make sure you choose sensible subdirectories - I canset
the root.

If it works, then I could set you up as a user of my system.
I could then change all permissions on those files to you, and you would
then be able to maintain it direct - ie change html and upload files.
You would need to use something like puTTY and pscp from DOS.

eg pscp <local filename>
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:ql/<directory>/<directory> etc

<local filename> supports the std DOS wildcards.

eg to send the index html:

pscp index.htm [EMAIL PROTECTED]:ql/

I would use 'ql' to point to (symbolic link) the ql file area.

It is dead easy though - nothing much more than:

/ for directory separator (of course)
cd (guess what that is (8-) )
ls -l - detailed listing
chmod - change file attributes. Much more complex (and better) than DOS
This will probably be OK - the default permissions are fine.
but "chmod 0775 *" covers most things.
mkdir - again no explanation needed I am sure

As with any Unix/Linux based system, case is vital. I try to stick to
all lower case for file names.

You could even write scripts......

If you have access to a Linux machine, then ssh would do the same job as
pscp.

I would still rather copy most files from CD (CD-RW?) rather than you
upload, for bandwidth reasons.

It would have a URL of something like:

http://www.firshman.co.uk/ql

If one paid for a oneandone domain name 9with re-direction set to this
URL, then it could be anything))
