Hi! I'm in the process of shopping my 1st GPS - Garmin 76CSx and since I'm using only Linux I'm naturally interested to find out what kind of support one can expect to find.
In email exchange with Oliver, I've found out that it's not possible to display Garmin's protected maps and I saw announcement in viking's list about their terminating support for Google maps. Considering that majority of GPS users are probably buying protected maps, I wonder what can we (Linux users) do with applications like QLandkarte? Yeah, I know about running MapSource under wine, but I'm not thrilled about it :-( Yesterday I signed petition about Linux support for Garmin, but who knows if something will come out of it, so, please, share with me what is your typical usage of QLandkarte with Garmin's GPS? (Based on research I've done so far, I'll probably buy Garmin maps on CD.)
