I've been trying to connect my EtrexH to qlandkarte without success and
I'm hoping that I'm missing something obvious. I've tried:

0.7.2 and 0.7.3 from the SuSE repository
0.7.3 compiled from source

Using gpsd or cat, I can see data from the device in NMEA mode, so the
cable seems to be correctly hooked up.

I've tried to do this two ways, one with the device interface set to
"garmin" and using the EtrexH driver and one with the device set to
"nmea" and using the NMEA driver. I then go to the live log and hit play.

The NMEA driver doesn't produce anything, possibly because the device
sends at 4800 baud and, looking at the source, that speed isn't
supported and it sets the serial port to 9600.

When I try the EtrexH driver, I get the message "Failed to change to
real time mode. setRealTimeMode(): is not implemented for your device".
If I try to download waypoints from the device, I get "failed to
download waypoints, serial_send_packet failed" and stdout produces
"ERROR: start byte isn't DLE serial_check_ack failed: pid sent = $
response id = 0 pid acked:"

I'm now at my wits end. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Doug
