here we go, another release. Loads of changes this time.
Cool, great news!
As seen on the list Albrecht did a lot of work to make QLandkarte GT ready for big endian system and OSX.
I would like to suggest here that you trigger the maintainers of Big Endian Linux distos (Debian and Ubuntu support it, maybe also Fedora?) to include the new package, as the previous crashed on loading Garmin files, which IMHO is an important improvement.
I hope Albrecht or any other Mac user donates some binaries!
If you can wait until next weekend or so, I can provide OS X packages for Tiger (10.4) on PowerPC and for Leopard (10.5) on Intel. My plan is to have two OS X installers (*.dmg) for each platform: one containing all dependency libs (gdal w/ jasper, proj, dmtx, exif), and the second being the "real" QLandkarteGT one with all Garmin drivers and the necessary QT frameworks. The user then needs to install the libs package only once (unless they come with important fixes). I don't think it makes sense to create a "fat binary" as it would grow really large. BTW, is there a tar package of the GarminDevs on sf.net, or am I just too dumb to find it? Of course, I could also include the svn version, but maybe a distribution tar is better... Would this be an acceptable approach for you? Best, Albrecht.
