Using the most recent svn qlandkarte on Ubuntu 10.04 64bit (libqt 4.6.2, libgdal 1.6.3, libproj 4.7.0), I'm not experiencing heavy stability problems.
However, it crashes sometimes. One of the reproducible occasions is when adding a waypoint and then choose cancel.
