Hi, a new release! And a real version step, too. But sadly, no new big features. The version step is because of larger changes under the hood.
The first one is for all Windows users. We abandoned the outdated FWTools distribution, to use the one by Tamas Szekeres http://www.gisinternals.com/sdk/. And we decided to ship that distribution within the installer. Thus you can uninstall FWTools, if you like. The big advantage is to get rid of various old bugs in GDAL and to benefit from official Ozi support. The next change was to switch the buffer to render maps from QImage to QPixmap. Well I spare you the details, you can read the thread yourself. In short: Raster maps can be moved a bit smoother now. And finally the genius Douglas-Peucker algorithm used for all polygons and polylines on Garmin maps. The patch was submitted by Michael Klein and is boosting the render speed of Garmin maps significantly. Many thanks to Michael. That earned you a place on QLGTs cudo list. See Help->About. All these changes are quite invasive and probably introduced a few bugs that slipped my attention. Thus please test and report. A well and the rest is just small fries. See the attached change log.
