Hi all,

I'm new here, please be gentle with me ;)

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 and trying to use Qlandkarte GT 1.3.2 with my
Garmin Etrex VistaC which is working pretty well with GPSBabel Version
1.3.6 (via Gebabble) using the USB library and the udev rules have been
set so that it works without running as root. The garmin_gps kernel
driver is not loaded (although it does work with Garmin Mapsource under
Wine).

I have downloaded & built the GarminDev libraries (version 0.3.4) and
they have installed in both /usr/lib/qlandkartegt
and /usr/local/lib/qlandkartegt. I have also set them all to be
exeutable.

However, when I run QLandkarte, set Garmin in Devices & Xfer preferences
(with the Serial port blank as it's a USB device) and try to select a
GPS Device in the sidebar, there are no specific entries in the dropdown
menu, I only get (from top to bottom) <blank>, <QLandkarte M>, <blank>,
<Garmin Mas Storage>, <NMEA>, <GPSD>

I've tried running it as a normal user, and as root, I've also run it in
a terminal with the -debug option but nothing appears on the stdout
stream to suggest that it's trying to load the libraries.

Is there anything else that I need to do to get Qlandkarte GT to load
them as I've now run out of ideas?

TIA

Steve Smith
