This is heavily dependent on the OS and the device. All older devices 
that need the proprietary Garmin USB protocol only got a chance to work 
on Unix or OS X. Plus it depends on the device as realtime  logging is 
not implemented for all. The device plugin will tell you.

On Windows the stuff might work, if the device is in NMEA mode and 
visible to the OS via serial port. In this case QLGT can open the port 
and evaluate the NMEA sentences.
