Hm, ok. I start to understand your intention. You say that switching the 
menu should terminate the line drawing the same way the right mouse 
button is doing.

The original idea was to pause the drawing on ESC, to move the map and 
to get back to it afterwards. However I am not sure if that worked on 
recent versions. And it is obsolete as the map moves if you get close to 
the borders.

Let me play a bit with the changes to see if they have any side effect, 
before I commit them.

Have a look at the isCurrent if clauses in initStyleOption. Probably you 
have to ad some #ifdef to fine tune that stuff for OS X.
