Hi, AFAIK you can replace the Typ-File in a gmapsupp.img with GMAPTOOL (http://www.anpo.republika.pl/download.html), when the FID and PID are equal. I used it to split a gmapsupp.img in tiles under Windows in Virtualbox. There is also a command line version for Linux.
