best you discuss the broken map with the maintainer (Martin) of the online maps directly: teleskopix at web.de
To create your own online map files it's best to review the existing ones. IHMO the syntax of the xml files is pretty straight forward. You can edit the initial xml in QLGT if you right click on the map and choose Information/Configuration. The second tab will display the server's capabilities. The main trick is to derive the correct bounding box and the correct size. This is highly dependable on the server configuration and has to be guessed for each servere independently. Thus it's a bit tricky and hard to explain.
But if you want to dive into the topic, ask Martin. And once you became a professional, write an article in the Wiki. ;)

Hallo!
I tried to look into the NW DTK25 via "Load Onlinemap". This doesn´t work, because there was an incorrecht URL in the XML-file (access dinied). I filled in the correct link (http://www.wms.nrw.de/geobasis/wms_nw_dtk25), now the access works, I can see the capabilities in "Information/Configuration". But still there is no map visible, only a white board with a "nomap"-sign.
I´m new with qlandkarte and now don´t know how to proceed.
BTW: is the anywhere a howto about configuring new maps via XML like the implemented online-maps?
