Oh, what a discussion. I just can't hold off to share some experience - if you can't test it: don't do it - a software package will mature with each additional platform for which it is ported _and_ actively maintained over a significant period of time - porting a complex package to a new platform may come with painful experience and only those may have the necessary perseverance which have a real interest in the result
