To move the mouse accidentially is a common problem when you start to adopt to the new behavior. So far you pressed the mouse and started to move it. It did not matter. Now you have to release it befor you move the mouse. It takes a bit of time to get used to the new timing. It's like dancing ;) Once you get used the to the new steps you can do them very quickly without thinking.
On the other hand side moving the map while in operation was pretty clumsy with the old auto-panning mechanism. Now you can move the map precisely without aborting your operation mode. But that implies to change the trigger of the operation to distinguish between map move and operation. Imho the only bad thing about this is that everyone has to adjust to the new behavior.

What I have said I do not work, but I find it difficult Work faster.
> The only reasons I can think of are:
1) Your mouse sends has a noisy position. By that the position can move by a pixel between mouse press and release event. This is detected as a map move operation.
This was the first thing I thought, and I tried to change the width of the mouse focus with a few improvements. But when I found the same problem on a different computer with a different operating system I had the suspicion that it has been changed a parameter. Perhaps with QT?
2) You accidently move the mouse while pressing the button.
Even this is possible and implies a rapid decay of my ability psychophysical ;)
Now I try to recharge the 1.7.1 version on Windows and do you knowMeanwhile thanks to Oliver. You're a myth!
